World No Tobacco Day Tomorrow

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) will be observed tomorrow in the country as elsewhere in the world emphasizing the health and additional risks linked to tobacco use, and advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption.

To commemorate the day, a number of anti-tobacco groups have set aside some programmes maintaining health rules amid coronavirus situation.

This year’s theme for World No Tobacco Day in Bangladesh is ‘Tamak Company-er Kutchal Rukhey Daw- Tamak o Nicotine Theke Tarun der Bachaw (resist evil design of tobacco companies- save the youth from tobacco and nicotine) ‘.

National newspapers are expected to print special updates, while Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, and other private TV channels are expected to air special programs illustrating its harmful effects.
