PM Donates Tk 10cr to CRP

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today donated Taka 10 crore to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP).

“The prime minister gave the donation of Tk 10 crore to the CRP to run its activities smoothly and continue its healthcare and other services to the people,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told media.

The press secretary said that the CRP will deposit the amount to the bank as 'seed money' and that it will have to use the capital to be received as the benefit or interest of the amount deposited for the protection of the people in distress.

CRP, which started its mission in 1979 to address the urgent needs of individuals with disabilities, offers medical care, rehabilitation and support services focused on physical, mental, educational, psychological, and economic dimensions.

It encourages the development of trained health and rehabilitation workers in the region. CRP has established centers in various parts of the world to extend programs for people with disabilities in cooperation with other organizations.
