The explosion took place at a flat on the ground floor of a 2-story building in the Purbo Kathgora area around 5:00 am when one of the family members tried to light a gas stove with matchsticks, reports our local correspondent.

Injured Liton (32), Shanta (25), Imran (5), Azijul (7), Salma (30), Shohel (27) and Ripon (26) were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Conditions of Liton and Shanta are critical, Jihad said quoting DMCH doctors.
