Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3 as squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and not to venture into the deep sea till further notice.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram, Barisal and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, said a weather forecast of BMD, valid for 24 hours commencing 6 pm today.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls also likely to occur at several places over Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, said the forecast.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
