Another BSMMU Doctor Dies From COVID-19

Another doctor died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the wee hours of Friday.

Dr Gazi Zahirul Hasan, a professor of the Paediatric Surgery department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), breathed his last at about 1:15 am at the intensive care unit of DMCH.

Dr. Nirupam Das, chief administrator of Bangladesh Doctors Foundation, confirmed the death to media.

With Zahirul, at least 28 doctors have died after contracting coronavirus infection while five others passed away showing COVID-19-like symptoms.

Besides, around 1,100 doctors have so far been infected with the virus.
