MP Mokabbir Khan Hospitalised with 'Breathing Problem'

Gonoforum MP Mokabbir Khan was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Monday with fever, cough, and respiratory difficulties.

The MP was taken to the hospital around 3 pm, said his personal secretary, Mohammad Koyes Miah, to the media.

He said that Mokabbir had been suffering from low fever, cough, and some other problems for four-five days.

"His condition began to deteriorate with breathing problems in the morning. But he did not experience a coronavirus check yet, "Koyes added.

He also said Mokabbir has also been suffering from fatigueness as he is unable to eat properly.

Koyes said the MP’s samples have been collected at the CMH for coronavirus test.

Mokabbir Khan was elected a Sylhet-2 MP with a ticket to Gonoforum in the last general election. He took oath as a member of the 11th Parliament in April 2019.

In Gonoforum's 26-year history, Mokabbir is the only party leader to become an MP with a ticket and a symbol.

BNP along with Gonoforum and some other parties joined the December-30 election in alliance under the banner of Jatiya Oikyafront. BNP bagged six seats while Gonoforum two in the election.
