Ex-Home Minister Sahara Khatun in ICU

Former Home Minister and also a presidium member of the Awami League, Sahara Khatun has been put in the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU) of the United Hospital in the capital.

Confirming the matter, her Personal Assistant, Mujibur Rahman, said on Friday morning that she has been put to ICU as her health deteriorated.

Earlier on June 2, she was admitted to the hospital for complications of old age. Several times, she tested negative for coronavirus.

Sahara Khatun joined the national political scene in 1991 when she fought the 5th parliamentary election as a member of the Awami League and was defeated by BNP Chairperson Khaled Zia.
