Production of State-Owned Jute Mills Closed

The production of state-owned jute mills of the country has been declared closed.

Besides, it has been declared that cent percent dues of the workers will be paid, says a media report. 

Prime Minister’s principal secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus revealed this information at a press briefing on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the decision was taken at a meeting of Prime Minister with the officials concerned of the Ganabhaban.

Currently, there are 25 state-owned jute mills in the country.  

The principal secretary said the production of the jute mills has been halted for modernization and remodeling of the mills.
