Govt Body to Run Awareness Campaign on Health Rules, Rawhide Collection

The government has set up a high-level committee to initiate a national awareness drive on safety rules, the collection and preservation of raw hides from sacrificial animals in the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha during the current Covid-19 pandemic, officials said.

The seven-member committee will prepare an advertisement called TVC to execute publicity campaigns across the country.

The main subjects of the TVC will be the heath guidelines, the rawhide selection method and the importance of salt mixing in the skin.

The Committee will also take the requisite steps to publish the TVC ad well ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha, the source said.

The decision came at a review meeting on fixing rawhide prices of sacrificial animals held at the commerce ministry recently with its secretary in the chair.

The government has taken necessary steps on collection and preservation of rawhides of the sacrificial animals during the second largest festival of the Muslims properly by its traders concerned.

It also discussed necessary bank loans for the traders and arrears of the past years, a source said.
