ACC Summons Six CMSD Officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned six officials of Central Medicine Store Depot (CMSD) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In a notice signed by its director Mir Md Jainul Abedin Shibly, the ACC summoned the officials on Sunday. 

Those who have been summoned are (1) Dr Md Shahjahan, former assistant director (Store and Distribution), assistant director (Administration), CMSD; (2) Dr Sabbir Ahmed, former desk officer-8 & additional duty on the store, CMSD, Dhaka (3) Kabir Ahmed, store officer, CMSD, Dhaka (4) Md Yusuf Fakir, senior storekeeper, CMSD, Dhaka (5) Dr Md Zakir Hossain, deputy director & P&C, CMSD, Dhaka and (6) Dr Ziaul Haque, former medical officer (chief coordinator), CMSD, Dhaka.

According to the notice, it needs to hear and accept the statements of the officials for the sake of the investigation as there are allegations that they are involved in various irregularities, corruption and abuse of power in the name of procuring substandard masks, PPEs and other health equipment for the treatment of COVID-19.
