When asked about the failure to pay workers in the month of June, BGMEA Standing Body Chairman (Media) Monirul Alam Shuvo said that factories that have not yet paid workers will pay within this month.

We hope that salaries and allowances will be paid to all our member factories soon, he added.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced a Tk 5,000 crore incentive package to pay wages and incentives to export-oriented industries in order to resolve the harm done by coronavirus.

Most of the owners of the garment industry received a lion's share of the Tk 5,000 Crore incentive package as a loan.
