Anti-Corruption Commission Grills MP Papul's Wife

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) interrogated Mohammad Shahid Islam Papul's wife, Selina Islam, and his sister-in-law on Wednesday.

ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Salahuddin interrogated Selina Islam and her sister Jesmin Aktar from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Commission Headquarters in Dhaka.

ACC director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee confirmed this.

On 7 June the Department of Criminal Investigation in Kuwait detained Papul on allegations of trafficking in human and money laundering.

The Bangladeshi MP was also accused of bribing government officials in Kuwait by sending them five luxurious vehicles so that he could secure labour contracts for the business he runs there.
