260 Employees of the Agriculture Ministry Test Covid-19 Positive

Two hundred and sixty employees of the Ministry of Agriculture have so far tested positive for the novel coronavirus, of which five have died of infection, according to a press release.

A total of 116 service members are receiving care and are in isolation. To date, 139 workers have recovered from the virus.

The Ministry of Agriculture is working relentlessly to address the potential food crisis due to the Covid-19, following the prime minister's directive, "Not even an inch of land should remain uncultivated", it also reads. 

Earlier Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Abdur Razzak has instructed employees of the Ministry to work in agriculture even though it is dangerous, even as health staff and law enforcement officers are operating from the frontline, the press release said.
