Rainfall Likely to Continue for 72Hrs

On Tuesday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasts that rain or thundershowers may continue for the next three days starting at 9 a.m. across the country.

"Light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusts of wind are likely to occur in most areas over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh, and in other areas over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet," the Met Office said in a morning bulletin.

It is claimed that the axis of the monsoon trough passes across Panjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh , Bihar, West Bengal from northeast to Assam through the northern portion of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is moderately strong over Bangladesh and low to moderate over North Bay, the Met Office said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the storm soaked up areas of the capital city.

The Met Office recorded 94mm rainfall in Mymensingh in the last 24 hours until 6 am.
