Fourteen sailors of a lighter vessel, which sank into the Bay of Bengal on Saturday morning due to rough weather, have been rescued alive after 21 hours.
The sailors were rescued from Thangar Char of Noakhali at around 8:00 am on Sunday with the help of two fishing boats.
Later, they were taken to Surjamukhi Bazar at Hatia.
Narayanganj-bound MV Akhter Banu-1 from Chattogram Port Outer Anchorage capsized at Hatia channel of the sea.
