Rough Weather Halts Paturia-Daulatdia Launch Services

Since Thursday morning,  launch service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route has been postponed due to the rough condition of the mighty Padma river triggered by weather.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) halted launch service from 8:00 a.m. in the morning to fend off any unjust accident in the midst of wind on the river, BIWTA's Assistant Director Faridul Islam said.

The suspension will not be lifted until any development of the weather condition, he added.

However, the ferry service was normal.
