A Cox's Bazar court on Monday placed each of seven accused including Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and Inspector Liakat, on four-day remand over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in Teknaf.
Metropolitan Magistrate Court- 4 Judge Tamanna Farah passed the order while investigation officer Senior ASPolice Khairul Islam of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) sought seven days remand for each accused to interrogate them.
All the accused were present on the dock.
The accused are former Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and former Inspector Liakat Ali, ex-Sub-Inspector Nandadulal Rakshit, ex-assistant Sub-Inspector Liton Mia, constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun.
Earlier on August 6, three key accused Pradeep, Liakat including of the case were placed on seven-day remand which concluded on Monday.
The authorities on August 2, suspended 21 police officials, including the in-charge of Baharchhara police outpost, in connection with the killing.
Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on July 31.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed the case at Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5.
