EC Sues Dr Sabrina for Possessing Dual NIDs

A case against JKG Healthcare Chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury has been lodged for the acquisition of dual National Identification Cards (NIDs) with fake information.

The Election Commission (EC) filled the case with the Badda Police Station on Monday morning.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) identified Dr Sabrina's two National Identification Cards (NIDs).

According to Voter Talika Ain 2009, the possession of a dual NID is a punishable crime with a minimum sentence of two years imprisonment or a fine or both.

According to the NID division of the EC, Sabrina became a voter for the first time in 2009 when she used her new and permanent address in Mohammadpur. She mentioned her date of birth as being December 2, 1978.

She mentioned her husband's name as H Haque and her educational qualification as post-graduate.

But in her second NID released in 2016, she called her permanent and current address in Badda and her husband's name Ariful Chowdhury. She used the ID as her date of birth on December 2, 1983.

She also changed her mother's name, as well as her professional credentials, and proclaimed herself a degree.

Sabrina and her husband Ariful Haque Chowdhury are accused of issuing fake COVID-19 certificates in the case filed.
