Jahangirnagar University student among 3 drown in Gaibandha

Three persons were killed after separate drowning accidents in the Gaibandha pond and river on Friday.

A child drowned in a pond in Gaibandha Sadar Upazila on Friday noon, while two youths drowned in the Korotoa River under Palashbari Upazila in the district while they were bathing.

The deceased were identified as Abid, 5, son of Joha Miah of Bahadurpur village under Ballomjhar union of Sadar Upazila, Al Mohaimin alias Siam, 21, of Bogura Upashahor area and his friend Sajid Hossen of Fulbari area in Bogura. Among them, Siam was a second-year student of the department of Physics of Jahangirnagar University.
