RAB Begins Interrogation of 4 Accused

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has started to interrogate four suspects in the murder case lodged against Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in Cox's Bazar.

The RAB investigative team began interviewing the four policemen who had been detained at Cox's Bazar District Jail Gate after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. They 're going to be interviewed for two days.

In fact, the remaining three suspects who have been remanded for seven days will be brought into detention by the RAB-15 on Sunday. They are: Teknaf Baharchhara police station sacked inspector Liakat Ali, Teknaf police officer in charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das and SI Nanda Dulal Rakshit.

RAB is also probing a telephone conversation involving former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das and Cox Bazar Police Superintendent ABM Masud Hossain.

“If necessary, the SP will also be questioned,” said Lt Col Ashique Billah, director (legal and media wing) of RAB, at a press conference held at RAB Media Center on Saturday.

In the meantime, in the case of the two fugitives, a hazy situation has been created. The Home Secretary said the remaining two people (accused in the case) were not members of Cox's Bazar Police. The two accused who also face arrest warrants are still on the run.

RAB, the organization investigating the case, said that they were gathering detailed information on the remaining two suspects.
