Madaripur DC, ADC Sued for Burning Dredgers

Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rahima Khatun and five other officials are facing criminal cases to have damaged dredgers and equipment of earth-filling.

Judge Mohammad Hossain of the Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court in the district ordered Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit a report after inspection.

Other accused are ADC Md Zakir Hossain Bacchu, Shaibchar Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Rafiqul Islam, Union Assistant Land Officer Yusuf Hossain, Md Rasel Hossain, and MLSS Babul Mia.

Monir Sardar from Daiyarchar Village and Sarwar Bepari from Sadullah Beparikandi Village under Shibchar Upazila filed a complaint with the Madaripur Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

According to the case file, the complainants used four dredgers to build land at Chowdhury Anisuddin Waqf Estate.

On August 28, DC and others raced to the spot, burning down four dredgers and destroying other machinery, causing immense economic losses.
