Govt Permits 92 Newspapers for Online Version Registration

92 nation daily newspapers have been granted approval by the government to register their online versions.

The information was revealed in a press release issued Thursday (3 September) by the Ministry of Information.

"The online portals of 92 local newspapers were originally allowed to register as part of the continuing effort to register online news portals," the press release said.

"These portals, which were initially allowed to apply, are expected to complete the registration process within 20 working days from the date of publication of this notification by submitting the fee in compliance with the government rules and regulations," he added.

The list includes 57 newspapers published from Dhaka, two from Mymensingh, 10 from Chattogram, four each from Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barishal, and seven from Sylhet.
