Attack on UNO Wahida Pre-Planned: BASA

Bangladesh Administrative Service Association, an organization of Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre officials, claimed that attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam is pre-planned, not a matter of mere theft.

The incident might have been a vindictive response by different interest groups after being failed in lobbying for illegal gains, BASA President Helal Uddin Ahmed, Senior Secretary, Local Government Division, alleged at a press briefing at the BIAM auditorium in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

General Secretary of the association Sheikh Yusuf Harun, Secretary at the Ministry for Public Administration, was also present during the occasion.

Earlier on Thursday, UNO Wahida and her father came under criminal attack at her government quarter at the dead of the night.

3 of the five arrestees have already confessed that they have carried out the attack for resisting an attempted robbery.
