Attorney General Recovers from COVID-19

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, who is presently undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital Intensive Care Unit, has recovered from the novel coronavirus infection.

Binta Mahbub, wife of Mahbubey Alam, confirmed the news.

Expressing her gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for constantly enquiring into the Attorney General's health condition, Binta asked the countrymen to pray for her husband's speedy recovery.

On September 4, Alam was admitted to a high-temperature hospital and later tested positive for COVID-19.  

He was later moved to the intensive care unit on September 18, after his condition worsened during treatment.

Alam, 71, has served as the country's attorney general since 2009.

Alam, a former Supreme Court Bar Association president, entered the legal profession in 1975.
