PIB Director Ilias Killed in Road Accident

Md Ilias Bhuiyan, Director of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) and also Joint Secretary has been killed in a road accident in the capital.

The incident occurred at Shonir Akhra in Jatrabari on Sunday night.

Fayjul Haque, Associate Editor (publication and feature) of PIB confirmed the death to media.

He said that Ilias was driving a motorcycle back to Dhaka from Narayanganj. When he entered Shonir Akhra, a truck struck the bike from behind. Ilias died on the spot and his body was taken by the police to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.    

His body will be taken to PIB at today’s noon and later will be taken to his hometown in Cumilla’s Muradnagar, Fayjul added.
