Mild Heat Wave Sweeping Over Parts of Country

Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Tangail, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajgonj, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Sayedpur, and may fall from some places, reports BSS.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the region, Met said in a press release.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/slow winds are likely to occur at most locations across the Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at several locations across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls across the country.

Low over Northeast Bay and adjacent area is now over Northwest Bay and adjacent to the coast of Odisha-West Bengal. The axis of the monsoon trough passes through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, the middle of the lowland, and from there northeast to Assam, through the central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is active across Bangladesh and across North Bay.

The highest temperature of the country on Sunday was 37.3 degrees Celsius at Dinajpur and the lowest temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours until 6 a.m. today was reported at Gopalganj by 68 millimeters(mm).
