An RMG factory worker was killed and another was injured on Monday morning when a pick-up hit a motorcycle in the municipal area of Savar.
Jahangir Alam, 35, the son of Abul Kashem Sadhu, was identified as the deceased.
Saiful Islam, the officer in charge of the Savar Model Police Station, said the accident occurred when three RMG employees traveling near the Kalma bus stand hit the motorcycle, leaving two of them seriously wounded. Later, on the way to the hospital, Jahangir died, the OC said.
They were on their way to the factory.
On information, police recovered the body.
According to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, a passengers’ welfare body, accidents on roads, railways and waterways in Bangladesh killed at least 553 people and injured 669 in August this year alone.
