Stimulus Packages Help Country’s Economy Keep Running: PM

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government's stimulus packages to every sector, particularly in agriculture and industry, are helping the country's economy to keep going during the Covid-19 pandemic, reports BSS.

"We have given stimulus packages directly to the agricultural sector, in addition to providing them separately to the industrial and other sectors. We have given the stimulus packages separately to the small, medium, large and textile. "Such an effort to send stimulus packages to each sector separately has made it possible to keep the economy of the country going in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic," she said.

The Prime Minister said this in an introductory speech while chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) from its official Ganabhaban residence via a video conference.

Planning Minister M A Mannan also attended the Ganabhaban virtual meeting, while other ministers and secretaries concerned attended it from the Sher-E-Bangla Nagar NEC conference room in the district.
