Interpol Issues Red Notices against 6 Bangladeshi Human Traffickers

The International Criminal Police Organisation, generally known as Interpol, released red notices against six suspected human traffickers at the behest of the Bangladesh Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

CID Organized Crime Department Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Zisanul Huq reported the case on Monday morning, reports media.

Interpol issued red notices to Mintoo Mia, Shawpon, Shahadat Hossain, Nazrul Islam Mollah, Jafar Iqbal, and Tanjilur at the request of the CID, he said.

On May, 26 Bangladeshi migrants were killed in Libya, a North African country.

The ASP also alleged that the accused six people had trafficked countless Bangladeshi nationals abroad, offering them good job opportunities. CID came to know about the trafficking ring after interrogating a number of victims and recently arrested traffickers.

At least 26 Bangladesh citizens were killed and 12 others injured in an attack in Mizda, about 180 kilometers from Libyan capital Tripoli, past May.

They were lured from different districts of Bangladesh with promises of a better future in Italy or any other European countries.
