COVID-19: Bangladesh Logs 19 More Deaths; New Cases 1,884

Bangladesh confirmed 19 new deaths on a daily basis from a novel coronavirus infection, taking a total of 6,986.

Another 1,884 coronavirus patients were found in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 487,849.

The release was made in a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 140 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 16,323 samples.

Health officials reported another 3,866 people recovering from the disease on a daily basis, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 414,318.

Of the total sample tests, 11.54 per cent tested positive in the last 24 hours, while 16.57 per cent of the total tests carried out so far were detected, the release added.

Among the total infections, 84.93 percent patients have recovered, while 1.43 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
