Sand Sculpture of Bangabandhu on Cox's Bazar Beach

A sand sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu has been officially inaugurated at Laboni Point on Sagartat in Cox's Bazar.

The sculpture was inaugurated at noon on Wednesday.

Cox's Bazar DC Md Kamal Hossain presided over the function while Cox's Bazar-3 (Sadar-Ramu) MP Saimum Sarwar Kamal, District Awami League Acting President Advocate Faridul Islam Chowdhury, General Secretary Mayor Mujibur Rahman, SP Hasanuzzaman, Heroic freedom fighter Kamal Hossain Chowdhury, Nurul Absar spoke on the occasion.

District Awami League Vice President Rezaul Karim, Organizing Secretary Naznen Sarwar Kaberi, Advocate Taposh Rakshit, Advocate Ranjit Das, Civil Surgeon Dr Mahbubur Rahman, District Juba League President Sohel Ahmed Bahadur, Branding Cox's Bazar coordinator Ishtiaq Ahmed Joy and sculptor team leader Kamrul Islam Shipon.

The program was hosted by Jahed Sarwar Sohel, Cox's Bazar correspondent of Bangladesh Television.

Visitors to the beach will be delighted to see the feet high and 14 feet wide sculpture. It is the largest sand sculpture ever made in Bangladesh. The sculpture will be open to the public till December 31.

An organization called Branding Cox's Bazar has provided overall support for the construction of the sculpture of Bangabandhu under the plan of Cox's Bazar district administration.
