COVID-19: BD Logs 25 More Deaths; New Cases 1,318

Bangladesh logged 25 new deaths from the novel coronavirus infection in a daily count, taking a total of 7,217.

Another 1,318 coronavirus patients are found in 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 498,293.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Friday afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 159 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 14,336 samples.

Health authorities registered another 2,024 people recovering from the disease every day, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 433,614.

Of the total sample samples, 9.19 per cent tested positive in the last 24 hours, while 16.34 per cent of the total tests carried out so far were detected, the release added.

Among the total infections, 87.02 per cent of patients have recovered, while 1.45 per cent have died so far since the first positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country on 8 March.
