COVID-19: Bangladeshi Expatriate, Son Die in New York within 3 Hrs

In New York on Saturday, a Bangladeshi expatriate and his son died of Covid-19, where the deadly virus has already claimed more than 36,000 lives.

Engineer Khairuzzaman and his son Abul Bashar Panna, who originated in Chattogram in the Halishahar area, lost their lives to coronavirus within three hours, reports media.

They used to live in Brooklyn in the New York state, said Subhasish Barua, a journalist in the US.

With them, in a week in New York, a total of seven Bangladeshis died, all of them from Chattogrm.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the US has recorded 17,649, 057 cases with 316,144 deaths, the highest figures in the world.

In 24 hours, the United States hit a high of nearly a quarter million cases of coronavirus recorded. An additional 2,814 individuals died nationwide, pushing to more than 313,000 the death toll, reports AP.

In addition, according to the JHU, a total of 76.2 million individuals have been contaminated globally and 1,684,816 have died.
