Global COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 1,816,118

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 1,816,118 as of Friday morning.

In addition, around the world, 83,356,808 Covid-19 cases have been reported.

Although new infection cases continue to rise among the world's infected population at current, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 22,652,934 infected patients 22,546,578 are in mild condition, which is 99.5 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 106,356 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.5.

So far, 46,995,594 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 28 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Thursday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,559.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 513,510 as 1,014 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
