Foreign Secy to Visit Delhi to Finalize Modi's Dhaka Trip

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen is set to visit India on January 27 to fix the agenda for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dhaka trip in March.

Masud will also attend a foreign consultation meeting in Delhi in his visit on January 27-29.

Narendra Modi is likely to visit Dhaka on March 26 this year on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.

The decision of his visit has primarily been revealed through the joint statement, issued immediately after the December 17 virtual meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart.

The foreign secretary will also hold a meeting with his Indian counterpart focusing on issues like connectivity, information technology and ways to expedite line of credit, sources said.

In addition, water sharing of trans-border rivers, including the Teesta, and unsettled land border-related issues could also be on the agenda, sources added.
