Dense Fog Disrupts Ferry Services

On Monday morning Dense fog forced the suspension of ferry services on the key Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Banglabazar routes. 

In Manikganj, authorities suspended the service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking lights became dim as the fog thickened, reports media.

Salam Hossain, manager of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office trade department, said the ferry service was suspended on Sunday from 11:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, due to the closure of ferry services, the number of waiting vehicles has risen at both ferry terminals on the route.

In Munshiganj, the ferry services on Shimulia-Banglabazar route remained suspended since 12:00 midnight due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
