Free Coronavirus Vaccines to Reach from India Tomorrow

On Thursday afternoon, twenty lakh doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine sent by India as a gift will arrive in Bangladesh.

A special Air India flight carrying the free vaccine doses consignment will land at 1.30 pm in Dhaka, reports media.

Health Division Secretary Md Abdul Mannan told reporters following a meeting on Wednesday chaired by the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary.

He said Health Minister Zahid Malique received the vaccine. Indian High Commissioner and high-up officials will present during the time. 

“The vaccines will be stored in the EPI storage in Tejgaon,” he added.

It is mentionable that, Bangladesh bought 30 million doses of coronavirus vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca from Serum Institute of India. The first batch of imported doses - five million - is expected to arrive in Dhaka by Jan 25.
