The country is experiencing a severe cold wave which may continue for more than two or three days.
The lowest temperature was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius in Tetulia of Panchagarh on Saturday.
The cold, which is sweeping over Rangpur, Gopalganj, Sitakunda, Cumilla, Srimangal, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore, and Chuadanga, may spread to different parts of the country, Meteorological Department predicted.
Night temperature may intensify by 1-2 degree Celsius and day temperature may remain unchanged, the Met office said.
The mercury with clouded sky may persist in the next 24-hour starting from 9 am on Saturday.
Moderate to thick fog may occur in some parts of the country during the period from midnight to morning.
