COVID-19: Bangladesh Reports 10 More Deaths

Bangladesh reported 10 more deaths from COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 8,137 so far.

Besides, a total of 443 new cases were detected over the same period, rising the total number of infected cases to 5,35,582 across the country.

A press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the development on Monday.

Meanwhile, some 472 people made recovery from the deadly virus over the same period while total number of recoveries is 4,80,216.

A total of 12,475 samples were tested at 206 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.

Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 3.55 percent tested positive, while 14.62 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.

Among the total infections, 89.66 percent patients have recovered, while 1.52 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.

Among the 10 deaths, nine are male and one is female the press release said, adding one is in his 40s, two are in their 50s while seven are above 60 years.

According to the division-wise data, seven deaths took place in Dhaka division and rests are in other divisions.
