PK Halder Leaves Country Through Banapole: Police

The immigration police on Monday told the government that fugitive former NBR Global Bank MD Prashanta Kumar Halder left the country through Banapole Land Port on October 23, 2019.

PK Halder is wanted in several loan scams and money laundering cases filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission. 

The police also said that the immigration authorities received a notice from the Anti-Corruption Commission 13 minutes after PK Halder left the country.

The police said that PK Halder is also a Canadian passport holder.

The immigration report would be submitted to the High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim on March 15 to comply with its order, deputy attorney general AKM Amin Uddin Manik told New Age.

Earlier, the High Court asked the superintendent of police of the Immigration at the Special Branch to submit a list of police officials posted at the immigration of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The court also asked the ACC to submit the list of its officers investigating PK Halder's cases.
