The government has asked to close all Qawmi and others madrasas until further notice amid the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the country.
In a gazette notification, the Education Ministry today said that an order was issued earlier asking to close all educational institutions, including the madrasas, till 22 May as Covid-19 cases were rising steeply here.
"Lockdown has been imposed in the country. But some residential and non-residential madrasas are still open, which is highly risky. So Qawmi and all others madrasas will remain closed until further notice," the gazette added.
Only the orphanages will remain open.
