Coast Guard Recovers 1000 Kg Jatka from Mawa

The Coast Guard arrested at least three people and recovered around 1,000 kilograms (kg) of jatka from Mawa fisheries godown under Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj district on Tuesday.

''A huge quantity of jatka was recovered in a special drive by the Coast Guard in the early hours today,'' said Lieutenant Commander Amirul Huq, media official of Coast Guard headquarters.

Acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard team recovered an estimated 1000 kilograms jatka after searching a pick-up (Dhaka Metro- na-19-1679). Three people, including the pick-up driver, were arrested during this time.
