24-Day Remand Sought for Mamunul Haque

Police have sought a 24-day remand for joint secretary-general of the recently dissolved committee of Hefajat-e-Islam Mamunul Haque to a Narayanganj court in three cases filed with Sonargaon Police Station.

The law enforcers also prayed the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate to show him arrested in the cases.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonargaon Police Station Hafizur Rahman confirmed the news.

One of the cases was filed by a woman who alleged that Mamunul raped her several times over the past two years after promising that he would marry her.

The two other cases were filed by police over the violence at a resort in Sonargaon on April 3.
