After a long month of fasting in Ramadan, the main jamaats (congregation) of the biggest religious festival of Muslims, Eid-ul-Fitr, was held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital on Friday morning.
The pilgrims performed Eid prayers maintaining social distance, following hygiene rules to prevent coronavirus infection. As a result, no one was seen shaking hands or hugging at the end of the prayers.
The first jamaat was held at 7 am.
Devotees came from different parts of the capital to take part in the first jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Senior Imam of Baitul Mukarram Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman offered the congregation.
After that prayers, munajat were held for the welfare of the country and the nation.
