Legendary Bangladeshi actor Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque was
brought to the ICU, after falling unwell again.
He is currently in Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital's
Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Farhana, the actor's wife, said, "Farooque was
transferred to a general cabin on April 27 after 37 days in the hospital's
Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but his condition abruptly worsened and he was
transported back to the ICU."
Farooque and his wife flew to Singapore in the first week of
March for a routine health checkup and were diagnosed with pseudomonas,
septicemia, and posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES).
On the 18th of March, his condition began to worsen rapidly,
and he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), but after a brief period
of recuperation, he was moved to the cabin.
In the last national election, actor Farooque, who is also a
freedom fighter, film producer, and businessman, was elected MP from the
Dhaka-17 seat.
In a career spanning more than five decades, Farooque starred
in over 150 films. His films were a commercial and critical success for the
most part.
