Bangladesh Logs 31 Covid-19 Deaths, 1,358 New Cases

With 31 new deaths registered in the last 24 hours, the country's death toll increased to 12,511. 

However, the fatality rate remained unchanged at 1.57%, according to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, 1,358 more people were infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which took the case count to 7,96,343. 

The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.

India recorded 186,364 cases and 3,660 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union health ministry's dashboard on Friday. 

After Friday's additions, the overall nationwide tally now stands at 27,555,457, while the death toll has increased to 315,235, reports Hindustan Times.

As of Friday, 3,526,515 people globally succumbed to the viral disease and so far 169,677,262 people contracted the virus, according to data provided by Worldometer.
