National Poet’s Family to Sue Robi over Facebook Photo Goof-Up

The national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's family will sue mobile operator Robi for defamation over using the photo of Rabindranath Tagore instead of Kazi Nazrul Islam in a social media post paying tribute on his birth anniversary.

The rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birth anniversary is observed worldwide on May 25. 

However, two days later, mobile operator Robi shared a photo of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on their Facebook page for paying tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam. 

Later, they removed the photo and issued an apology. 

However, Nazrul’s granddaughter Khilkhil Kazi said that they would rather take it to court and fight a legal battle against the telecom company.
