Mutilated Body Found in Mohakhali

Police on Sunday recovered a mutilated dead body, which was missing the head and several limbs, from Amtali Road in the Mohakhali area of the capital.

Confirmed the matter, Banani police Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamsur Rahman said the naked body was found inside a drum and the head, the arms and the legs were missing, reports media.

He said the deceased could not be identified as the severed body parts were yet to be recovered but the body was confirmed to be of a male's.

The dead body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.

The Officer-in-charge (OC) of Banani police station Noor Azam said the spot where the body was recovered fell under the jurisdiction of his police station.

"Someone dropped the drum with the body from a car on the side of the road. We are trying to identify the deceased. It is not immediately known who left the body here," he said.

Police were looking into the incident, the OC added.
