Dhaka University Affiliated 7 College Students Block Nilkhet Area

Students of seven government colleges affiliated with Dhaka University are holding a sit-in demonstration by blocking the road demanding to open the hall, campus and take exams physically.

They started the protest on Thursday (June 3) at 11 am in front of the police box at Nilkhet junction in the capital.

Nur Mohammad, a protesting student, said that even after 14 months of closure, no roadmap has been announced by the Ministry of Education or the college administration on education activities. Instead, by announcing one date after another without any plan, a kind of responsibility has been avoided from the Ministry of Education. Online classes have been introduced where most students could not attend due to financial crisis and network problems. As a result, many students have dropped out of education. But where offices and courts have been kept open, it is unreasonable to keep schools, colleges and universities closed.

The students present said that the Academic Body has decided to keep the residential hall closed and take the examinations of different years of the university. However, most of the students here come from outside Dhaka to study and earn their living by doing tuition in different places and often they have to support their families financially to survive.

They also said that many people are losing their tuition and living an uncertain life at this time. In such a situation, it will be impossible for him to go to Dhaka for exams. Students, on the other hand, will face another new crisis if they decide to take exams without adequate preparation time, without opening the hall and campus, without creating a proper roadmap.
