Torrential Rains Lash Dhaka, Adjoining Areas

Torrential rains have lashed Dhaka and its environs. It has also helped to minimize the heat that had been there for a few days.

The rain began around 8:15 on Saturday. It was raining till 02:30 pm, according to the media report.

People, especially office workers in the private sector, suffered as a result of the severe rain.

Furthermore, Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts are expected to occur in various parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Sylhet, Khulna, and Chattogram divisions till today evening, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

However, the heat-wave is expected to subside in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Rangpur divisions, according to the weather forecast.

Meanwhile, Dhaka, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Bogura, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chandpur, Cox's Bazar, Mymensingh, and Sylhet river ports were requested to hoist signal number one.
